On Sunday 2nd May 2004 people all across Australia will participate in Australia`s largest fun run. Many will run in memory of a great Australian. You can participate in this National Event by selecting your location below and registering online. If your town isn`t registered yet, don`t hesitate to contact admin@lestweforget.com.au to get started. On the first Sunday after ANZAC Day each year, an 8km or 5 mile run/walk will be held in your town. Run/Walk in honour of one of your relatives or friends and have their name listed on the Lest We Forget Hall of Fame.

On ANZAC Day 2004, the community of Zonnebeke is opening a brand-new museum in the grounds of Zonnebeke Chateau, about the infamous battlefields, ninety years after the beginning of the Great War. The Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 is the successor to the well-known Streekmuseum and is maintaining a classically traditional style of presentation.

Sardines Festival in Gelibolu town (Gallipoli)

This year the 12th sardines festival was held in Gelibolu. The government organized 3 tons sardines and served it for free to the public.
The festival started at 3 o`clock with opening of the Yamac Park, later they served 3 tons sardines for a huge barbeque. All fishes were eaten in only half an hour.

- Simpson revered -

The image of Jack Simpson and his donkey with a wounded soldier strapped to its back on the battlefields of Gallipoli is part of Australian folklore. They saved more than 300 ANZACS and a monument to their heroism is at the National War Museum. The image will be recreated tomorrow at the Reserve Forces Day march in Sydney.

The 46th Henry Lawson Festival definitely had to be the best yet... ...The contributions were fantastic and the Art Judge, Jean Stokes would have needed the wisdom of Solomon to choose the winners of the various sections, not to mention the Statuette winner (Alan Mcclure for his painting "ANZAC Day in the Country".

From the 27th of April to the 4th of May 2003, the town of Goreme in central Turkey played host to its first annual ANZAC week, culminating in a huge public party on the evening of the 4th. The celebrations kicked off with the unveiling of a new ANZAC memorial and water fountain in the newly-created Peace Park in the centre of town.
