Fire fighters are still monitoring the site of the blaze to prevent any flare ups. Emergency services have controlled a large forest fire that broke out Sunday in the Gallipoli National Park, though not before more than 250 hectares of land was burnt out.

Gallipoli, a five-hour drive down the rough roads of the Dardanelles from Istanbul, is hard enough to get to from central Turkey, let alone London, let alone Sydney or Christchurch.
